Throughout the years in charge, Stephen Colbert had some massive names since taking over from David Letterman. He did the impossible by interviewing Steven Spielberg, who had never appeared on any late night shows prior. He also had terrific chemistry with past Presidents. None better than Barack Obama.

However, Colbert made a heartbreaking reveal to fans three years ago. Colbert had booked a ticket to attend Obama's 60th birthday party. Plans changed, and Colbert still attended the trip, but was not a part of Obama's exclusive party. Three years ago, Stephen Colbert opened The Late Show discussing Barack Obama's exclusive 60th party. Fans were wondering if Colbert had attended the festivities. Surprisingly, he did not, despite the fact that Obama has been a recurring guest over the years. Colbert was heartbroken over the decision, and admits he had even booked his hotel and travel plans at that point.

Colbert made light of the situation. He added, “He was forced to limit the invites to only his closest Beyoncés. I know what you’re thinking: ‘So Steve, what was the party like?’ I don’t know, I didn’t f****** go. In the massive scaling back, I got massively scaled.”

Despite the invite snub, Colbert still decided to take the trip with his wife to Martha’s Vineyard. Colbert called it an honor to be invited nonetheless.

“We were invited. Honored to be invited, obviously. Totally going. ... We booked a flight, got a hotel, then five days before the party got a voicemail saying they were scaling back. OK, message received. It just goes to show you, kids, that if you work hard, put in your time, and get to be the number one show on late-night television, you too can be disinvited from a cool kid’s party."

Colbert's hilarious yet truthful monologue was viewed by a near 2 million fans on YouTube.

At the very least, Colbert had excellent interviews with both the Obamas over the years. He even found out a detail about Barack few fans knew about. Michelle Obama made the reveal during their entertaining interview 7 years ago, which amassed 22 million views. "You know, at least our time together because when he first walks in, we have dinner. It's usually dinner time. So, that's the time when, unless Malia asks him about his work, which we try not to have her do. It's all about the kids. You know, 'How are your days? What's going on? What's the latest gossip?' He's really into gossip."

Michelle Obama also gave a great impression of Barack, one fans still have a blast with all these years later.

Former Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump were both past guests. Of course, Trump took part in an interview with Colbert prior to being elected. Colbert has said time and time again, he won't ever do it again.

However, when it comes to past Presidents, he hit it off with the most, none compared to his interviews with Barack Obama. The guest was just as open with Colbert, revealing what he would have done had he stayed in office for a third term.

“I used to say if I can make an arrangement where I had a stand-in or front-man or front-woman and they had an earpiece in and I was just in my basem*nt in my sweats looking through the stuff and I could sort of deliver the lines while someone was doing all the talking and ceremony, I’d be fine with that because I found the work fascinating."

Despite stepping down, Obama had fond memories of his time in office, especially in terms of solving complex issues facing the United States. “Even on my worst days, I found puzzling out these big complicated, difficult issues, especially if you were working with some great people, to be especially professionally, really satisfying,” he said.

Although Obama hasn't appeared on the Late Show in three years, fans got to see Michelle's exciting return alongside Colbert three years ago. Fans are hoping to see Barack return in the future. Or at the very least, get re-invited to one of Barack's bday bashes. Given that August 4th came and went, we'll have to wait another year for Colbert's possible invitation to Barack's festivities.
