Neifach, 60, of Richardson, Texas, owner of the former Poise 'N Ivy women's apparel shops in Buffalo and Williamsville, died Tuesday (July 29, 1997) in Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, Texas, after a short illness. Born Judith Karan in Brooklyn, earned a degree in mathematics from the University of Buffalo and worked for Calspan and Liberty Mutual insurance, company before opening Poise 'N Ivy store on Elmwood Avenue near Buffalo State College in 1963. She opened the Williamsville store in the mid-1970s. She closed the Buffalo store in 1994 and closed the Williamsville store earlier this year before moving to Texas to be near her children and grandchildren. Known for her appreciation of fabrics and design, she also was acclaimed for her needlepoint work, some of which has been donated to the Nutrition, Hospitality and Fashion Department at Buffalo State College.

"She sketched out her designs mathematically," her son Keith said. "If she made a flower, it not only aesthetically was a flower, but also mathematically it was a flower." She was a member of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce and the Amherst Business Association and supported the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Studio Arena Theater. She was a member of Temple Shaarey Zedek. She also became active in the Down's Syndrome Parents Group of Amherst after one of her grandchildren was born with the condition. Surviving are her husband of 41 years, Irving; a son, Keith of Richardson, Texas; a daughter, Robin LeoGrande of Plano, Texas; a sister, Theodora Karan of Boca Raton, and four grandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Dallas. Francis D. Myers, retired social worker LEWISTON Francis D. Myers, 73, of Pletcher Road, a retired social worker, died Tuesday (July 29, 1997) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital after he suffered an apparent heart attack.

A lifelong resident of Lewiston, Myers attended Stella Niagara Academy and was a graduate of Youngstown High School. He served in Europe with the Army Medical Corps during World War II. Myers worked in the medical assistance section of the Erie County Department of Social Services for 25 years until he retired in 1985. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church of Youngstown, Lake Ontario Post 313 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Youngstown and the Niagara County auxiliary police.

He enjoyed gardening and working with animals and was an avid history fan. Survivors include his wife, the former Margaret Capitan; two sons, Kevin Myers of Niagara Falls and Brian Myers of Livermore, five daughters, Cynthia Kean of Lockport, Claudia Keeler and Margaret Myers, both of Greenwich, Paulette Salmon of Ithaca and Donna Kates of Jupiter, a brother, David of Jupiter; and five grandchildren. "Little Art" Thomas, 85, retired bartender who was known for the crisp white shirts he wore and his style in mixing drinks, died Mon(July 28, 1997) at his home in Buffalo. Thomas, a native of New York City, left home at an early age to work as a waiter in Schenectady and Utica, where he met his wife, the former Margaret "Tootie" Clark.

She was a chorus girl at the Harbor Point Club in Utica when they met. In the late 1930s, they moved to Buffalo to work at the Dan Montgomery Hotel on Curtis Gene Elizabeth Johann NIAGARA FALLS Gene Elizabeth Johann, 71, of Forest Avenue, died Wednesday (July 30, 1997) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a brief illness. A Niagara Falls native, the former Gene Cassford worked for Moore Business Forms before starting a family. Survivors include her husband, Herbert "Joe" Johann; a son, Donald of Cheltenham, a daughter, Diana Roll of Lancaster; two sisters, Doris Mesler of Lewiston and Phyllis Schram of Liverpool; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Beasock, 32, of Fifth Street, a native of North Tonawanda, died Saturday (July 26, 1997) in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.

He attended school in North Tonawanda, and enjoyed playing bingo. Beasock was disabled for some time. Survivors include two sons, Dennis and Michael; his mother, Barbara M. Zastrow of Tonawanda; his stepmother, Shirley Beasock; two sisters, Tammy of North Tonawanda and Susan; two stepsisters, Tina Beasock and Linda Wyatt; and three brothers, Robert Tracey and Donald. They were only supposed to stay three weeks at the Buffalo job, but the three weeks turned into a lifetime stay. Thomas worked as a bartender at several popular clubs until he retired at the age of 65.

After his retirement from bartending, he worked for several liquor stores. He was an avid horse race fan and enjoyed going to the races at Saratoga and Fort Erie, Ont. Survivors include his wife of 60 years; a daughter, Barbara a son, Arthur J. Jr. of Albany; and a sister, Edna Phillips of Seattle.

Weiler, 86, a retired chemical engineer, died Tuesday (July 29, 1997) in Newfane Health Facility. A native of Barberton, Ohio, Weiler was a graduate of Akron University and held a master's degree from Ohio State University, He worked for the Olin Corp. and then for National Lead Niagara Falls from 1950 to 1976." He enjoyed astronomy and music and tended his farm in later years. His wife, the former Pauline Minnich, died in 1969. Barth, a former deacon in the Buffalo Catholic Diocese, will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph University Church, 3269 Main St. His son, the Rev. Michael K.

Barth of Cleveland, will be among the priests concelebrating the Mass. He died July 6, 1997, at his retirement home in Murrell's Inlet, S.C. A former resident of Eggertsville, he retired in 1981 as labor relations manager for the former Worthington Compressors. From his ordination as deacon in 1978 until his retirement in 1992, he served at the Brothers of Mercy Home in Clarence, Our Lady of Peace Church in Clarence and St. Joseph University Church.

Active as a pro-life advocate, he was associate director of the Diocesan Family Life Department in the early 1980s and, with his wife, Miriam, was co-director of the Diocesan Pro-Life Activities Office from 1981 to 1992.
